Jeffrey B. Gracer focuses his practice on facilitating the successful conclusion of environmentally sensitive projects and transactions. He regularly represents public companies and real estate developers in the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated sites. He has significant experience in cross-border transactions involving Canada, the United States, Mexico, Europe and South America.

Remediation and redevelopment of former oil refinery and manufactured gas plants in New York City; remediation and redevelopment of former mining property in the Western US for ski-in, ski-out residential and hotel use; cross-border transactions involving solid waste, mining, pulp and paper, energy, and metals companies; representation of lenders, REITS and private equity investors in environmentally sensitive transactions; litigation and arbitration of environmental disputes.

Mr. Gracer is active in pro bono matters. He has secured political asylum for clients fleeing persecution in Latin America and Africa, was co-counsel in a class action that successfully reformed a state foster care system, and successfully defended a non-profit organization in an environmental dispute. He serves on the advisory board of the Vance Center for International Justice Initiatives, which promotes international pro bono work.
