Elizabeth Knauer, Associate

Executive Summary:
While in law school, Elizabeth Knauer studied local government law and community development law and policy, including land use law, and participated in a community development clinic. She also took special interests in intellectual property law and human rights. Her experience includes internships at the Authors Guild and at Cultural Survival Canada, researching international human rights issues relating to biodiversity and sustainable development. She was also a participant in the Summer Program at Sive, Paget & Riesel. Prior to joining the firm, Elizabeth took a year-long fellowship at the Libel Defense Resource Center, where she researched and wrote about media law issues, including libel, privacy, copyright, and trademark law.

Elizabeth is active in the practice, working on land use issues, zoning, federal and state environmental permitting matters, and water rights litigation. She has experience with the State Environmental Quality Review Act, the Navigation Law, the Tidal Wetlands and Freshwater Wetlands Acts, the Clean Water Act, and the Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act, among other statutes.
